PANDEMIC LESSONS FROM PAULO FREIRE'S CONCEPT OF AUTONOMY

Keywords: Paulo Freire, Autonomy, Remote teaching, Pandemic

Abstract

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, distance learning is a reality that brings reflections about the learning itself. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the education in the remote modality, implemented by the government of the State of Minas Gerais; when, then, the autonomy of the student body is pondered based on this innovative methodology. In this sense, the methodology used will be the analysis of the official document that details the government proposal, in addition to some reports shown in online newspapers and television media, in the period from May 2020 to March 2021. In this perspective, the results indicate that most students are in a situation of heteronomy because they present difficulties regarding the appropriation of knowledge; and, also, it is important to pay attention to the issue of the superficial and massifying learning process. Therefore, all these aspects make it difficult, in a certain way, to make a political commitment to the community in search of a transforming praxis.
