It stands out as a space dedicated to the convergence of various disciplines, fostering dialogue among knowledge areas often treated in isolation. Mythos is more than a journal - it is a platform seeking to transcend traditional research barriers, embracing the richness that emerges when different knowledge areas collaborate. Furthermore, Mythos aims to promote studies involving diverse cultural contexts.
en-US
Since January of 2024, the authors retain the copyright relating to their article and grant the journal Mythos, from FEPESMIG, the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0), as stated in the article’s PDF document. This theme underscores the profound impact of technology on various fields and the interconnected nature of advancements in science, engineering, humanities, and beyond. We invite scholars and researchers to explore the multifaceted dimensions of technology's role as an interdisciplinary catalyst.
Rodrigo Franklin Frogeri Copyright (c) 2024 Rodrigo Franklin Frogeri https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://periodicos.unis.edu.br/index.php/mythos/article/view/840 Wed, 10 Apr 2024 17:06:25 -0300 BILINGUAL EXPERIENCES https://periodicos.unis.edu.br/index.php/mythos/article/view/768
Igor da Silva Becati, Alessandro Messias Moreira, Celso Augusto dos Santos Gomes Copyright (c) 2024 Becati, I. da S., Moreira, A., & Gomes, C. The research aimed to understand the motivations and experiences of women from Minas Gerais in the displacement process. The instrument was interviews with ten women who migrated from the south of Minas Gerais-BR to Florida-USA. The data collected was analyzed using the triangulation technique, which articulates the narratives, the context and dialogues with authors who study the themes emerging from the narratives. As a result, women migrate to the United States in search of better cultural, financial and social conditions. That despite difficulties with the English language and adapting to the new culture, they have no interest in returning to Brazil. Currently, the profile of immigrant women is heterogeneous, coming from different social classes and no longer linked to the male figure as reported at the beginning of the last century.
Nara Fernanda Goncalves, Suzana Lopes Salgado Ribeiro , Elisa Maria Andrade Brisola Copyright (c) 2024 Nara Fernanda Goncalves, Suzana Lopes Salgado Ribeiro , Elisa Maria Andrade Brisola https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://periodicos.unis.edu.br/index.php/mythos/article/view/850 Thu, 13 Jun 2024 00:00:00 -0300 ACCEPTANCE OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS DURING COVID-19 https://periodicos.unis.edu.br/index.php/mythos/article/view/825
The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to adopt social distancing measures, which have had a significant impact on the teaching-learning model. To ensure effective use of technology in the teaching-learning process, it is crucial to understand the contexts in which these technologies are applied and how they are perceived by teachers and students. This study aims to analyze the perception of students and teachers from federal and private Brazilian HEIs regarding the usefulness and ease of use of the main Information System used in remote teaching/learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. A quantitative approach with hypothetic-deductive logic was adopted, and 806 valid responses were collected. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, clustering, correlation, analysis of variance, and regression. The study found that the attitude toward IS use during the pandemic period was influenced by Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use, but the influence was different for students and teachers. The modality of teaching before the pandemic did not impact the perception of usefulness or ease of use of the IS, regardless of whether the HEI was public or private. However, this observation varied for students.
Fernando da Costa Gama Junior, Rodrigo Franklin Frogeri, Fabrício Pelloso Piurcosky, Eduardo Gomes Carvalho Copyright (c) 2024 Gama Junior, F. da C., Frogeri, R. Mobile banking, constituting over half of transactions, emerged as the predominant channel. Despite substantial technological investments, understanding the reasons behind mobile app usage remains crucial, particularly among the different generations. Thus, this study analyzes the perception of "baby boomer" and "Z" generations regarding the adoption of banking apps. Twenty individuals across generations with varying app familiarity participated in qualitative interviews. The data was analyzed using the Content Analysis technique. Our findings suggest that users value the convenience of app-based transactions, reducing reliance on physical banks. Generation Z favors digital banks, while baby boomers trust traditional ones, citing concerns like connectivity issues, tech knowledge limitations, and cost-benefit considerations. Non-using Generation Z individuals cite age, maturity, security concerns, and lack of social influence as reasons. Apprehensions about using other apps prevail among baby boomer users, echoing non-users' fears, emphasizing the significant role of fear in decision-making, possibly linked to reported digital data theft and virtual scams.
Danielle Rocha Teodoro , Rodrigo Franklin Frogeri Copyright (c) 2024 Danielle Rocha Teodoro , Rodrigo Franklin Frogeri https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://periodicos.unis.edu.br/index.php/mythos/article/view/834 Fri, 12 Apr 2024 15:30:16 -0300
