Abstract

Multimedia platforms, as new information and communication technologies for teaching and
learning in higher education, were invaluable during the COVID-19 pandemic. These lessons
learned are important and remain relevant today as best practices for digital transformation
technologies for training new generations of architects and urban planners. The objective of
this paper is to present examples and experiences in the use of multimedia platforms to
support teaching and research in architecture and urban planning programs. As background,
there are products developed at the Central University “Marta Abreu” from Las Villas, Cuba,
currently being applied at the Autonomous University of Encarnación, Paraguay, in various
subjects and research projects. This is a descriptive study, explaining various examples and
experiences. The conclusions point to their advantages as best practices in this digital
transformation.
