Abstract

This article describes teacher education, its challenges, and the need for the teacher's adaptation to the classroom dynamics in contemporary society. Such an approach is necessary once the discussions about the new student's profile, the new technological tools, and a new student's behavior point to a relationship in the teaching process.  The objective of this work is to present some elements that have marked teacher training throughout history and to highlight the points that still constitute "knots" for the performance of teachers in the new generation of students. The methodology used is a bibliographic research based on authors who discuss teacher training and the new generations. The analysis of the research showed that higher education institutions need to provide a differentiated training, with new methodologies remembering that many times, the teachers who train new teachers belong to another generation, which requires integrity and complicity in the new educational scenario.
