Abstract

Student engagement is a major factor for success in the teaching and learning process. The objective of this study was to verify the learning and consolidation of the content through the application of active methodologies with a focus on music production. The study was carried out in a classroom with the discipline of Human Physiology, with students of the Physiotherapy and Physical Education course of a Private Higher Education Institution in Belo Horizonte. The activity carried out was the construction of conceptual maps and soiree. The students of the 9 classes were divided into groups and each group received a topic related to the discipline. They were instructed to produce a parody and present it at the end of the semester. The activity was divided into 6 stages where students were instructed to carry out various activities, in order to seek information that could add knowledge of the proposed subjects. In the final stage, students should present the music, choreography and costumes created by them. Feedback was given at the end of each stage by the students. The work was seen as gratifying by the students. In the end, we conclude that a more participatory activity is able to engage students and allow knowledge to be consolidated.
