Abstract

Presentism is something that affects people and organizations today. This condition can be defined in situations where a particular individual is physically present at his workplace, however, he is not mentally focused on his activities, whether due to intrinsic and extrinsic factors in the environment. After the emergence of smartphones and social media, the presenteeist state has reached more and more people in different environments, especially in the university context, so this article aims to identify the main aspects that influence the presentist behavior during the formation process of the student, through the application of an instrument that allows the measurement of presenteeism in the student community, which are present in the university environment and / or are related to the individual's biopsychosocial condition. For this purpose, from a focus group and a bibliographic review, a questionnaire was prepared and applied to verify the present state in a Higher Education Institution in Belo Horizonte - Minas Gerais, in the modalities of undergraduate, specialization and master's degrees. It was observed that presenteeism is a problem that currently affects the student community, and that factors related to biopsychosocial needs and the academic universe have great influence on student presenteeism. Which allows to conclude that, the knowledge of the factors that predispose to presenteeism in the academies from the applied instrument, is of extreme relevance for the continuous improvement of the teaching-learning processes in the country, as well as will help to mitigate the actions of presenteeism students are designed and implemented with greater assertiveness.
